You can earn the Haunted Shipwreck trap and the Ghostship Journal theme by completing the adventure log.

Destroy at least three ships and capture a Captain Cannonball to complete it.

* IMPORTANT TIP* If you read the trap description, it says hunting in sunken city with the new traps grants bonus loots.

With at least two weeks to the event, you can be pretty confident in sinking at least the 3 ships to earn the trap, and many of you will be able to max the aura out.  Once you've got the aura maxed, start focusing on the high gold mice.  With many of the loot drops being double-gold with the Cursed Gold bonus, you can make some serious money.  Theoretically, you could max out the aura with 67 of the Gnawnia ships, requiring about 150 of the Gilded cheese and a LOT of Master Burglars.

If you didn't prep at *ALL* for this event, I'd start with the easy areas like the Bazaar for the Master Burglar (gilded), or Windmill for Capn Croissant (Grilled), as you've probably got some of those cheese just laying around you've forgotten about.

There are two halloween maps available, and eight new treasure chests.

Sealed scroll case    List of Mice     List of Loot   ---  This opens an Eerie, Haunted, or Spooky map

Sealed Terrifying scroll case   List of Mice    List of Loot  --- This opens a Terrifying map only

They might contain the two new mice, and the terrifying one focuses on Rift mice.

As always, you can dust both chests for bonus gold and points.

EVENT END TIPS (written 11/3)

With the event five days away, now is the time to start using the last of your GGG, and firing off the canonballs, and even trying to silver that Captain if you can.   It's good to know that after the event is over, there are a few things you can still do:

* Claim loots from partially damaged ships -- the more damage, the more loot.

* Finish any map with non-event mice still on it. Any event mice will no longer be available, so watch those closely!

* Spooky Shuffle tickets can be used anytime. Find them in your inventory under the "Special" section, and click 'Play Spooky Shuffle now".

10/17/17 -- Launch day!

10/18/17 -- Updates to each ship

10/20/17 -- Updated headers, added some pictures.

11/3/17 -- Added some event ending notes.

11/5/17 -- Added the Spooky Shuffle Script Tip.

  • There are two primary locations: Ghost ships and Haunted Ghost ships.
  • Travel to Haunted  Ghost ship locations, arm regular cheese to collect Ghastly Galleon Gouda.
  • Arm this Ghastly Galleon Gouda in the same areas to collect cannonballs.
  • Go to any ghostship location (haunted or not)
  • Arm regular cheese and cannonballs (its on or off, like the mist, or oxygen, or fuels, etc.)
  • Catch a mouse with cannonballs armed to damage the ship!
  • Destroy the ship to gain a bonus aura during the event, and start getting Lockbox cheese.
  • Arm Lockbox cheese to attract the Captain Cannonball.
  • Destroy lots of ships to get lots of loot and extend a bonus aura as long as you can.

Dave's FBF Notes  November 3rd, 2017

https://www.facebook.com/notes/dave-vanderburg/mousehunt-feedback-friday-november-3-2017/10155906235207360

There's lots of theories and methods on how to "win" at the spooky shuffle game.

Here's one guide on how to play the mini-game.

TL; DR (Too Long; Didn't Read

The Soul of The Sea opens up to a number of areas to fire your cannon.  If you're fully charged, I'd recommend doing a tower run, as that can keep you focused for a bit.  Other options include aiming for a Tritus Mouse in the Sunken City, or perhaps Icewing or the Deep will help you greatly....but will take time to get to if you weren't prepared.

Use THIS SCRIPT to add a hint guide. It's legal, but only works on MHG.com

Part 4 -- New Potions, Loot, Collectibles

REMINDER! Turn on your porchlight, and

                 collect free goodies every day!

(Find it on your profile page.)

Martial Mayhem,  best mouse is the Dojo Sensei, with OMG cheese.  You can defeat the ship in 3 catches.

Gnawnian Ghoul8,000Mountain 15 hrs

Soul of the Sea560,000Slushy Shore20 hrs
Demon of the Desert1,500,000FieryWarpath22 hrs
Ancient Apparition1,575,000Fungal Cavern, MoPi24 hrs
Phantom of the Plane1,600,000Gnawnia Rift30 hrs

Four new mice this year.

Spectral Swashbuckler, Use Ghostly Galleon in specific areas (see chart below)

Ghost Pirate Queen. Use Ghostly Galleon in specific areas (see chart below)

Scorned Pirate.  Use Ghostly Galleon in specific areas (see chart below)

Captain Cannonball!  He only shows after a ship is destroyed and you've got Lockbox limburger armed.   Be sure to go to a HAUNTED Ghostship location.  The Captain is weak to all power types, so you can set your most powerful setup to catch him.

Phantom of the Plane is a rift based ship, so depending on your own preparedness, go for a high battery mice in the Furoma Rift, or the Ascended Acolyte if you prepared ahead.   Alternatively, with only 14 Resonator cheese, you can work on your gold of the Goliath Field Mouse.

PRO TIP:    When using GGG, the game acts as though you're armed with Gouda.  That is, it's like using Gouda in MoPi and you'll lose percentages, and you'll use up Oxygen in the Sunken City as well as moving forward the 30 feet.

The great news is that you can destroy the ship as many times as you'd like.  The loot potential here is awesome for those that prepared!

After the first ship is destroyed, you'll be given a bonus aura of 30% power, for a different amount of time depending on the ship, and includes extra chances for drops of Cursed Gold (smash for real gold), and wealth charms.

Each future destruction will extend that aura out to a maximum of December 1st.

One item you might miss is "Cursed Gold", found as a regular loot drop while the aura is active....which has a chance to double the gold you've received!  You can find it in your inventory, and smash it with the hammer to turn it into regular gold.  (Collectors should leave at least one in inventory!)

There's also two skins (only available for sale by Donation or perhaps the market if you get lucky.

Halloween takes place on October 31st, however the MH events usually start two weeks before and end one or two weeks after any given holiday.   The 2016 event ran from Oct 13 through Nov 3; which was three weeks.

Halloween 2017 began on Oct 17, 2017 and ended 11/8/2017,   Needless to say, SPOILERS OFF THE PORT BOW!!!

There are no special requirements to play this event, other than having the rank to get to the higher level areas.  i.e. A count cannot go minataur hunting.

Ancient Apparition can be a tough one to beat, unless you've had some preparation work done.  With some diamond cheese and baitkeeps, you can sink it with 4 Crystal Behemoths.  Many of you thought, would rather go after 14 Ful'Mina catches to sink this beast.

Gnawnian Ghoul seems like an easy kill with only 8,000 points needed, but the only options available to you here are all pretty low point mice.   However, two Master burglars will sink it pretty quick with Gilded cheese.

Silvermanes Guide to Halloween 2017

Part 5 -- Overall Mechanics

Part 8 -- Miscellaneous Trivia

Part 6 -- Advanced Tactics

Part 7 -- Treasure Maps

This new event mechanism can be a little confusing, but once you understand it, it's pretty straightforward.

Hunt in any event area with regular area cheese to get some Ghostly Galleon Gouda. (GGG)  You can find the event areas by clicking the bright orange question mark on the HUD.

When you've got a stock pile (any amount, really), switch to the GGG in the same event areas and be sure to check your trap setup. This cheese will begin attracting all the event mice, and some will react different to the different setups. (e.g. Gourdborg doesn't like tactical for some reason.)

These event mice will drop cannonballs. (Also gotten through daily visiting of friends' profiles!!)

Now comes the fun part!!!  Go hunting the biggest mice you want with your regular cheese, such as Dragonvine for Ful'Mina, and arm your cannonballs by clicking the "Fire!" button on your HUD.  Each catch will do damage to the ship.  The higher ranking areas, the bigger the ship and more damage needs to be done.   Destroy the ship!!!   Will take anywhere from 2 to 15 shots, depending on the mice you catch.

If you hover your mouse over the ship's green bar, you can see exactly how many points you need. Each of the six ships has a different point total.
